Most framing problems are one problem: the contents are deeper than the lip they have to sit in. Glazing, mount, artwork and backing board add up, and if that stack is taller than the rebate the backing sits proud, the tabs will not hold it and forcing it bows the moulding.

So we ask what is going in and quote the rebate in millimetres against the measured stack. A stretched canvas, a mounted panel, a pressed textile, a medal ribbon, a jersey — all of them need depth stated rather than hoped for, and all of them are ordinary work here.

Sizes are cut to your measurement and we give you three numbers rather than one, because they are genuinely different: the artwork size, the sight size the mount leaves visible, and the outside size the wall has to take. Most reorder mistakes come from those three being treated as one.

Why do you give me three different sizes?

Because they are three different things and confusing them is what makes reorders wrong. Artwork size is the sheet. Sight size is what the mount leaves visible, about five millimetres in from each edge. Outside size is what the wall has to take.
